Maestro: Alex Nguyen is a versatile trumpeter, composer, arranger, and bandleader based in New York City. He has performed across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, collaborating with esteemed artists. Drawing inspiration from trumpet greats like Miles Davis and Roy Hargrove, Alex’s performances are known for their warmth and poetic phrasing. He co-founded the Jazz Conceptions Orchestra and has played at notable NYC venues like Birdland and Lincoln Center. Alex also composes for a range of ensembles, blending sacred and jazz music. His community-driven projects include concerts in unique settings, and his heritage as a child of Vietnamese refugees influences his work.
